Art attack blog
Art Attack Blog, Week 5, term 3
For art attack my goal was to produce a piece of art related to our local landscape using pastel.
In Mrs Marsh's class we learned about the foreground, midground, background, horizon and the outline
- I included a flax bush, some hills, a lake and a path
- My technique was to blend different colours together.
- I enjoyed sketching my tree and my hills.
- I am proud of using colours that stand out upon others.
- I found sketching my flax bushes and my tree pretty easy. I found using the pastels inside the lines surprisingly difficult.
- I would like to try water colour if I did another landscape because I want to try different shades of colours
- I would like to get better at my sketching skills

My learning Goals for Term 3.
I have been identifying my literacy goals for the start of term 3.
My reading teacher is Mr Rule.
My writing teacher is Mr Forman.
My handwriting goal is to flick and link.
My spelling goal is to complete list Commonly miss spelt.
My writing goal is to write about a moment in time.
Use a variety of verbs and adjectives to make my writing more interesting, and
precise nouns.
My reading goal is to use several pieces of information to make inferences.
My blog goals are to add more detail to my blog posts.

Reflecting on my learning
I had an amazing week learning about countries around the world.
First we learnt about Israel. It was really fun because we learnt different facts. It was my favourite country that we learned about.
When we learnt about Israel one of the most fascinating facts is that you can actually float in The Dead Sea.
Next we transitioned to the year 1 hub and learnt about Russia.
We learnt that their underground looks much fancier than ours.
After that we transitioned to the year 6 hub to learn about China.
Now I know that China is the most populated country in the world with 1.3 billion people as of 2017.
At the cultural assembly we saw a range of different things.Like a Samoan dance and some people playing different instruments that I haven't even seen before.
It was really fun.

What is my next step? To count in bigger tidy numbers such as 100,200,300,400.

Poems- I learned about the four things in poetry.
Rhyme, Rhthym, Humour and senses.
I achieved my goal because I wrote a moment in time about the year four sleepover. Here is an example of my learning-Sloth-Lazy fluffy spiky fur.Giant eyes.Tiny mouth.No branch.
Next time I will try to come up with more descriptive words for my poems.
Year 4 Sleepover
Something I enjoyed was when Mr Brown was scaring people because it was intense.
One challenge I had was hiding when we were playing Fox's and Hounds I solved it by using ninja moves.
Something I learned about myself was that I was really interested in our Discovery Dome session.
I surprised myself when I knew a lot about the planets when we were in the Discovery Dome.
It was the best.

Athletics 2016
I am learning different Athletics skills.
I learned to scissor kick in high jump.
I achieved my goal because I scissor kicked and landed on my feet in high jump.
Next time I will take off on 1 foot and land on two feet for long jump.
My favourite event was high jump.
